KFC Australia has been obliged to switch from lettuce to cabbage.

Several fresh vegetables and fruits in Australia have risen dramatically.

Photographs of lettuces that cost more than $10 (£5.72) shared on social media, that is  tripe to the the normal price.

After lettuce harvests were damaged by floods, the company told customers it was using a blend of lettuce and cabbage.

Because Australia is experiencing a lettuce shortage, KFC has been forced to use cabbage in its burgers and wraps. 

 “Due to the recent floods in NSW [New South Wales] and QLD [Queensland] we’re currently experiencing a lettuce shortage. So, we’re using a lettuce and cabbage blend on all products containing lettuce until further notice.” according to KFC Australia’s website.

they continued, “If that’s not your bag, simply click ‘Customise’ on your chosen product and remove Lettuce from the Recipe.”

Recall, KFC Australia changed menu because of lack of main ingredient in chicken as at January.

Unpredictable weather occurrences, like massive flooding on Australia’s east coast at the beginning of this year, have also had an impact on the country’s food output. And triggered consumer prices to be increased by 5.1 percent at earlier of this 2022 year.

Because of increased prices driven by a variety of factors, like supply chain interruptions, that was caused by Covid, crisis in Ukraine, and Australia’s floods selectively, Australia Central Bank increased its interest rate to 0.85 percent, up half a percentage pointon on Tuesday.
